How long does an annual wellness exam take?

Plan for 45–60 minutes. New patients should add 15 minutes for paperwork.

What's the difference between a physical and an annual wellness visit?

A physical is a hands-on exam typically required for jobs, sports, or insurance. A Medicare Annual Wellness Visit is a preventive planning visit, no exam required, but covered at 100% by Medicare. We can do either, or combine them if appropriate.

Do I need to fast before my annual exam?

If we're drawing labs that include a lipid panel or fasting glucose, fast 8–12 hours beforehand. We'll let you know when we set up your visit.

Is the annual exam covered by insurance?

Most commercial insurance plans cover one preventive visit per year at 100%. Medicare covers the Annual Wellness Visit. We'll verify your benefits before your appointment.
